my hotel has a 5...
my hotel has a 5 wire,277v thermostat controling a 2 speed fan coil 4 pipe system .we would like to switch to a 24 volt automatic thermostat with digital readout .a 6th wire is difficult to add.any ideas?

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help! I'm not understanding a 277 volt thermostat? Are you saying you have some kind of line voltage thermostat set up? If so, to switch to a 24 volt system would require a relay and transformer wired in.

yes it is 277v at thermostat i did not expect that either.i would have to add a 6th wire(a nuetral) to operate ,code requires this additional wire be run with the others(bad news)however low voltage could be run seperate.many 6th wires already instaled

Why not just add a relay and transformer and turn the line voltage setup into a 24 volt system?
