Ok same as oil. What is the condition of the flue passes on the the heater. Are the clean. If the chimney clean? is there a draft diverter on the flue pipe?

you have a bad air oil mix. not enough air or too much oil. do you have a pressure gauge to read 100 psi?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.
not on the the heater
Expert:  Bart Jay replied 6 years ago.
I would try to adjust the air intake for more air to start with. i would suggest getting a gage and on the pump should be an access port to measure the oil pressure which should be 100 psi and check be adjusted
