Customer Question

I have a Payne furnace - model #PG8JAA/MAA. The previous owner did not leave an owner's manual and there is no filter in there. What size? and where does it go. Also, do you open the dampers or close them in the summer?

Billy :

The manual is here -

Billy :

The filter is installed at the discretion of the installer. It could be on the bottom right or left could be in the return duct that enters the bottom of the furnace. Unfortunately the filter size and location is configured at time of install and is up to the guy putting it in. Some even have the filter in a wall or ceiling register.

Customer: Ok, so how do I figure that out?
Billy :

take bottom door off furnace...track duct work
