I have a Taco 006-B4 circulating pump on my domestic hot water

Customer Question

I have a Taco 006-B4 circulating pump on my domestic hot water heater
(open loop). It seems when I turn on the hot water the pump is not circulating. When I get close to the pump I can here the impeller turning. I recently drained my hot water heater and there was mineral deposits that were purged from the system. Now hen I turn on the hot water it seems to take a few minutes to get hot. This was not the case a few weeks ago.

Do you think I need to order the Taco replacement cartridge?

What do you think may be the problem? Air lock in the pump?

Is the Taco replacement cartridge easy for the DIYer to install?

It shouldn't be air in the system as it is an open loop , I would try replacing the cartridge on the pump first.
