My Honeywell/36 Programmable Thermostat displays "EEE" and will not work. I have changed the batteries but that did not help.....

Hi,

 

Generally speaking an E error means it's lost its E-prom which contains the firmware in the controller. I can't find any info that states otherwise so its probably a bad stat. You can try different batteries but it sounds like the stat has failed.
