my trane xr80 gas furnace will not light. First the purge motor

This answer was rated:

my trane xr80 gas furnace will not light. First the purge motor comes on then the igniter comes on, but at the same time the gas valve opens, the igniter goes out and the furnace does not light. After three tries to light the blower motor comes on and stays on. The furnace flashes a two code. The intergrated furnace control was replaced two months ago by a trained Trane technician.
Customerdo you know if you have gas pressure?

Do you own an electrical meter?

Yes we have gas pressure

No I do not have electrical meter, one that test electrical current

Here is what I gather.

Your gas valve is not letting gas through.

There are two main causes for this.

Either your gas valve needs to be replaced, or your ignition control is not sending voltage and needs to be replaced.

Since you do not have an electrical meter you will have to call out a technician.
