I think my battery is dead oh, I've had it on a battery

If the battery is 4 years old then that is most likely your problem. You will need to check the voltage to be sure. It should have 12.5 volts +/-. If it does, try to start the bike. If it drops below 10.6 volts then your battery is bad and will need to be replaced. If it tests good, then when pressing the start button, check the small wire on the starter solenoid. It should have battery voltage. If you have battery voltage, then check the main power cable to the starter. It is the bigger wire. It should have battery voltage at all times. If you have voltage at both wires, then your starter is bad.
