Second opinion] I bought an 07 s2000, the previous owner replaced the exhaust with aftermarket, Magnaflow, the exhaust drones severely between 3k - 4200 rpms, would going to a Berks HFC help with reducing or eliminating the drone?

Mechanic's Assistant: How many miles are on the car? How has your mileage been lately?

57,000 I have only had the car for two years I guess ok about 25mpg combined with aggressive driving

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your S2000 yourself? What have you tried so far?

HI,

That drone you are hearing is typical of performance exhaust systems. Going with the Berks high flow cat will not eliminate this drone. You need to have a resonator installed in the exhaust pipe that runs between the cat and muffler. This will eliminate the droning noise. For best results it should be around 12-14" long and 2 1/2 to 3" diameter.

If for any reason, you can't rate my answer OKAY, GOOD, or EXCELLENT/3 STARS OR HIGHER today. Please reply and let me know why, so I can help more/better. All follow up responses are FREE, after completing the required rating

the current exhaust mid pipe diameter is 2,25" will the resonator impact/restrict performance? if it will, would the adding an HFC along with resonator counter balance that, meaning bring the performance back to where it was or better? while eliminating the drone? if not, I will stick with just adding the resonator....Thanks

With exhaust pipe that large in diameter, you will need to go with a HFC along with the a resonator to keep performance and eliminate the droning noise

I took the Power Steering O-Ring service bulletin linked from JustAnswer to my Acura dealer, and not only did they no-charge the o-ring, they also replaced the power steering pump at no cost.
