Customer Question
2005 Honda Odyssey died...

2005 Honda Odyssey died while driving. Replaced battery but won't even turned over. Could this be an alarm problem because I replaced the battery?

Mechanic's Assistant: Have you tried locking and unlocking the driver's side door using the key itself?

Still no luck

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Odyssey yourself? What have you tried so far?

Replaced battery

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

All I get is the interior lights and dash lights but the starter doesn't even click when I turn it over

Hey how are you ,I will Try to Help you with This Issue

yes it could be related and needs reset

what is the security indicators doing , steady on , flashing or goes away after you turn switch to on or start

try this reset first and let me know

Master Reset

1-Disconnect Both Battery Cables ,Positive & Negative .
2- Touch Cables With Each Other For 60 Secs ( this will take any residual power in the Harness to Reset the Vehicle Modules )
3- Wait 30 min
4- Close all doors and trunk
5- Reconnect Battery Positive First
6- Use The Key in The Driver Side Door
Lock Cylinder to Lock it & Unlock,IF You have only a Key Fob ,use it to lock and unlock
7- Enter vehicle and Start it .

If you do not mind me asking are you looking for the most possible causes and taking it to a repair shop or you are repairing it yourself and you need step by step instructions
Please Let Me Know

Your answers were clear and the diagrams were perfect. Dealer wanted $87 for an hour of labor and even I did it in 15 minutes.

HONDA PLATINUM was great. I really appreciate his help. I was ready to trade my new Honda until he told me to wait until I got 3,000 miles on it and my gas mileage would get much better.

I took the Power Steering O-Ring service bulletin linked from JustAnswer to my Acura dealer, and not only did they no-charge the o-ring, they also replaced the power steering pump at no cost.
