Customer Question
Had trouble starting my...

Had trouble starting my 2002 Honda civic lx a few days ago like it was only firing on 2 cylinders once it started it was fine. Turned off and started immediately was fine. 2 days later it did it again. Didn't try to start it yesterday. Tried to start this morning turns over but wouldn't start. Checked plugs they had gas, fuses were good. Seems like it is flooded.

Mechanic's Assistant: Most vehicles have two fuse panels. Have you located both?

Yes

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Civic yourself? What have you tried so far?

Checked all spark plugs and fuses.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Also checked compression and every cylinder had exactly 90 psi

could timing belt jump a tooth cause low compression
Mechanic for Honda: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 6 months ago

no, but low compression can be a sign of jumped time.

HONDA PLATINUM was great. I really appreciate his help. I was ready to trade my new Honda until he told me to wait until I got 3,000 miles on it and my gas mileage would get much better.

I took the Power Steering O-Ring service bulletin linked from JustAnswer to my Acura dealer, and not only did they no-charge the o-ring, they also replaced the power steering pump at no cost.
