Customer Question
I have a Acura...

I have a Acura and it is reading code on the radio screen

Mechanic's Assistant: Has the battery been recently disconnected? Have you checked the manual or the glove box for the radio code?

The manual is not there anymore, and I just replaced the car battery

Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model/year of your Acura?

I believe 2003 3.2TL

Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far?

19UUA56933A086342 This is the Vin Number. And yes.

Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

No that's good.

Error

Does the screen change when you press any button or it stays at error?

It was toggling back and forth but now it just blinks

Mechanic for Honda: Gunvir Singh,

Maybe you tried the codes too many times. Need to disconnect the battery for 2 minutes and it will reset and allow you to re-enter code.

Ask Your Own Honda Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
Does that mean I literally have to take apart the battery and put it back?
Mechanic for Honda: Gunvir Singh,
 replied 1 year ago

No just the battery terminals.

Ask Your Own Honda Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
What are those?
Mechanic for Honda: Gunvir Singh,
 replied 1 year ago

The the clamps the battery cables and battery is attached to.

Ask Your Own Honda Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
Just pull them off?
Mechanic for Honda: Gunvir Singh,
 replied 1 year ago

Leave them off for couple of minutes and try to put the code again.

Ask Your Own Honda Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
How do I take them off?
Mechanic for Honda: Gunvir Singh,
 replied 1 year ago

You will need a wrench or a socket to loosen the terminals holding bolts and once they are lose you can pull them off.

Ask Your Own Honda Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
Do I need tools?
Mechanic for Honda: Gunvir Singh,
 replied 1 year ago

Maybe a screwdriver to open the cover and a fuse puller or a pair of pliers to pull the fuse.

I took the Power Steering O-Ring service bulletin linked from JustAnswer to my Acura dealer, and not only did they no-charge the o-ring, they also replaced the power steering pump at no cost.
