Is this an Accord or Civic?

Do you hear any clicks when you turn the key?

I really need to know which model this is to help you here

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Honda accord no clicking
Expert:  Carguy1 replied 2 months ago.

Ok thank you. Do you have electrical power? As in head lights and dome light when you open the door?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
dome lights come on
Expert:  Carguy1 replied 2 months ago.

Ok, Usually if you get no sound at all when attempting to start it, this will be an issue with the neutral safety switch. Try wiggling the shifter and putting the shifter into neutral from park and see if you get any sounds at all. At least there should be some clicking when you turn the key. Then, put it back into park and try it again.

Please try this and let me know.

What u think
Expert:  Carguy1 replied 2 months ago.

I think the neutral safety switch (range sensor) on the transmission is probably the issue. It's really the only thing that will prevent any action at all from the starter.

If you have a test light we can do some testing on it to be sure, but from here it seems like the likely culprit.

Is it something i can do, what kind of test light
Expert:  Carguy1 replied 2 months ago.

A 12 volt automotive test light will be needed. If you haven't used one and want to try. It's a pointer on one end and a clamp on the other. i would suggest watching some youtube videos on using the test light so you can use it. Then I can pull up the wiring diagram and help you with that.
