Hi Im David, thanks for visiting the site. So the engine is doing nothing? a click? a series of clicks?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
One click from a relay inside the car when car is attempted to crank but that is it
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

ok. pull the starter relay. d you have a volt meter?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Any idea exactly which one that is? And I don't have a multimeter right now
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

check the highlighted fuses. then with the key on, check for power at the starter relay plug. I will get you the location. i know its up under the dash

Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I do believe I have power at the starter relay
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
It clicks when I turn the key
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

yes, but is it making it through to the starter?have you checked for power at the starter?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
How would I do that?
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

you should have constant power on the starter solenoid wire. and then switched power atthe starter coil wire.

Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

you replaced the starter right?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Yessir
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

get your self a volt meter or test light and get back to the starter and check for power on both wires.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
There is no power to the starter
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

on which wire?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Clutch position sendor doesn't flip any relays
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

then you need to pull the starter relay. so we can check voltage. the switch is supposed to energize the relay

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
The starter relay does become energized when the key is switched
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

ok then you have an open wire from the relay to the starter.

Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

i thought you said the clutch switch didnt flip the relay? or you tried it without turning the key on.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
The clutch switch doesn't make any noises but the starter relay does
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

right. thats how it works. then you have an open wire to the starter if you don't have power to it. now which wire on the starter did you test?

Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

im closing up shop and headed home. ill be back on in about an hour.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I tested the top one
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

the white wire? or the blk/wht one?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
The one connected to the starter and not the solenoid
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

thats coming from the relay. you need to pull the relay and put a jumper between 30 and 87 (if its numbered that way) key on. see if it cranks.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Okay thank you
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

please let me know if it cranks then

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Will do, I'm not around the car anymore so I will have to wait till later
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

ok. no problem

Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

hows it going?

Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.

do you still need help?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Possibly, I have a starter relay in the mail. So we will see if that works
Expert:  david craig replied 5 months ago.
