I had checked my Honda civic and it showed fault 61-1

Customer Question

i had checked my Honda civic and it showed fault 61-1 battery voltage malfunction. got the terminals cleaned and the Yellow Engine indication turned off for two days but is still on. Need to know is it to replace the battery or the terminals.
JA: Does the battery look like it's leaking? And does it have a strong smell -- like sulfur?
Customer: No
JA: What year is your Civic?
Customer: 2006 LX
JA: Are you fixing your Civic yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: i am i have just cleaned the corrision on the terminals.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: i am kind of lost on that as i did also clean the air intake sensor and i replaced the coolant sensor. and as the engine light went off but its back again and i am presuming it has something to do with the battery but not sure that is it the terminals or the wiring harness which is not short or is it just the battery.

Hi Im David. if the check engine light is on you need to put a code reader on the DLC and find out what is faulting.

you also need to have the voltage at the battery check while not running and again while running

do you still need assistance?
