I have an 04 honda accord, the ac compressor is not

Customer Question

Hello I have an 04 honda accord, the ac compressor is not engaging. I have replaced the compressor so the clutch is new. The cooling fans come on as soon as freon is charged to correct pressure. I have took a jumper wire and jumped the connector where the relay goes and clutch engages. I swap out the relays, I have 12v in two of the ports under the relay, I checked all fuses. Can you please help

Hi Im David, when you say the clutch engages when you jumper the relay have you tried it with the engine running to see if the clutch spins?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
it spins and ac blows cold

Ok well thank you

just do a continuity test of the wiring to the ecm and pressure switch. if the wiring is good, replace the switch. i seriously doubt its the ecm

It was good info but I couldn't use it. When I turn on the ac in the car it sends signal to the relay to turn on the cooling fans, I simply took that same command signal and shared it with the compressor relay. It's working like it should.

If I turn on the heater the compressor clutch turns off like it should and if the freon leaks out then the compressor is still protected by the pressure switch

Thanks for your help anyway
