Cranks but will not start, had new battery installed just a

Customer Question

Cranks but will not start, had new battery installed just a week ago.
JA: Have you checked the engine's fuel supply? And the spark plugs -- are they all working?
Customer: 15 this morning, maybe frost in the line, ran great yesterday.
JA: What is the model of your '15 Honda?
Customer: 2007 ridgeline
JA: Are you fixing your Ridgeline yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Local mechanic installed battery and new positive connection after failing to start twice before. Jump stating did not help. Let vehicle sit for an hour then it started.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Time before it died after starting for 2 seconds, then would turn over but not start, let sit for an hour then it started. Took to local mechanic, that is when he replaced the battery a little over a week ago.

The problem can be a loss of spark or fuel. You can check for
spark at the plugs with a spark tester.
You can check fuel pressure with a gauge and both of these tools
should be available to you at your
local parts store for rent or purchase.
You need to check for any stored codes in the computer with a
code reader or a scan tool.
The code reader only gives the codes and definitions, where the
scan tool gives you all
the needed data to diagnose the codes.

Thanks, Ron
