good morning, the check engine light came on this morning...and the little green flashing light beside the D on the dash was flashing...have no idea
JA: Does the light stay on, or does it blink?
Customer: it blinks
JA: What is the model/year of your Honda?
Customer: civic 2009 model basic
JA: Are you fixing your Civic yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I just turned the car off and on again to see if the light would go away but it came back on

When that light comes on, it's telling you that a code has been set in the computer system. Now you need to get the codes read.

Most parts stores will read codes for you for free, but that's all you get is the codes. The best way to approach this is by having the codes read and the data by a scan tool.
