I have a 2006 Honda Civic CX with a 1.8 and the A/C clutch stay engaged/on all the time no matter what I have the controls on it has burnt up the last comp. the only time/way I can shut disengage the clutch is by removing the clutch relay on under the hood//from what I found by reading is the neutral side of the relay coil is controlled by the PCM //// I have found that the negative side on the relay plug has continuity to the frame all the time even when the wiring has been pulled from the PCM I am looking to find out where the wire goes from the relay/fuse box to where?
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
that is what I have been trying to get
a wiring diagram and wiring color codes
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
can you provide that type of information
Mechanic for Honda: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 year ago

Mechanic for Honda: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 year ago

let me check ...see what i can come up with. you want a whole pcm pinout?

Ask Your Own Honda Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
do you see any reason why I would be getting the negative side of the clutch coil relay showing continuity to the frame
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
no I am thinking just the plug that deals with the A/C or clutch relay
Mechanic for Honda: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 year ago

are you talking about the red wire for the clutch relay showing continuity to frame?

Ask Your Own Honda Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
the reason the for the pin info ad color wiring is because everything I had found and the information you have sent doent match the wire I am founding to have a short
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
I can't found for sure what color of wire but working from the plug that the relay under the hood plugs into there is a hot side all the time the key is on and a control side// negative run from the PCM and that side show it is shorted to ground
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
even the color wire going to the compressor they are 3 blue wires
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
thank you
do you feel you can get me a PCM pin ID and Color for that one going to the AC

I just pulled the back off the relay/fuse box from under the hood
the wire going to the control side of the relay is purple with a gray tracer
none of the wires going the that relay are red of any color
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
it looks like the # 3 on the relay is the one that should be controlled by the PCM and should not be grounded to the frame
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
do you see any reason why Honda would have this wire grounded or am I correct in thinking this is my shorted wire and that is why the clutch is one the whole time
Mechanic for Honda: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 year ago

purple with a grey tracer? let me do some digging. did you do a continuity check on that wire to the pcm?

are you positive you have the correct relay?

Ask Your Own Honda Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
it is the one I pulled and the clutch turned off
I am checking for the short with the relay pulled and the PCM removed/disconnected
do you have a picture showing the layout of the relays under the hood I want to be on the right for sure (I also pulled a relay from a different spot to see if changing the relay would fix it but no luck only when the relay was remove did the clutch cut off)
Mechanic for Honda: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 year ago

Hi David,I know are trying to get the right color coding for the Honda
but can you confirm that we shouldn't be getting a short to ground on the wire from the clutch relay coil side going back to the PCM and that is with all the wiring to the PCM
Mechanic for Honda: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 year ago

i cant confirm anything. the more i look at that wire,,,does it read short to ground with the pcm connector disconnected?

Ask Your Own Honda Question
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
Disconcerted from the PCM and from the fuses /Relay box
But since I don't know where the wire goes through out the car so not sure if I am miss reading the wiring diagram and maybe there is a point where it should be grounded to the frame
Everyone's telling me the neutral ground for that circuit is the control circuit which should be controlled by the power control module via the HVAC controller
Customer reply replied 1 year ago
ok now I know not crazy
Mechanic for Honda: david craig, Auto Mechanic replied 1 year ago

that wire should not go to anything along the way
