driving car and it suddenly died, seemed like it was not getting any fuel. checked voltage to fuel pump with key on and got no voltage. could it be a fuse?

YES, this could be a blown fuse, main relay, ignition switch or even a wiring issue. Does the check engine light come on with the key on for 2 seconds and then go off? It should for a bulb check..
