Wrong key used to start (broken one without chip)

Customer Question

Wrong key used to start (broken one without chip) Immobilizer kicked in. Key would not be released without disconnecting the battery. Proper key used but would not start. Again, disconnected battery needed for removal. Battery was being drained so a trickle charge started. Still did not start. Charger put into start mode....engine fan and stuff started but not the engine. Suspect security systen problems. Before tgis, car alarm would go off randomly if driver door was locked.
JA: Have you tried locking and unlocking the driver's side door using the key itself?
Customer: Yes
JA: What year is your Charger?
Customer: I dont know
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I already descibed that
JA: Sorry about that. I must have missed it. Could you tell me again?
Customer: Recharged the battery and tried a jump start
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Car alarm goes off randomly if driver door is locked and has been sensitive to other peoples key fobs. The battery is a new delco less than 2 months old
