Code P1381 keeps tripping on 1998 Honda accord. Distributor

Customer Question

code P1381 keeps tripping on 1998 Honda accord. Distributor unit was replaced about 9 months ago
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact code? And have you tried to reset it?
Customer: Yes, a few times. It goes out but returns a month or so later
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: replacing the position sensor in the timing chain assembly
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: No. Car still runs.

Hi, welcome to Just Answer. I’m Ron and I’ll be helping you
Before we get started though, Please understand that I don't know
your skill level or tools you have to assist us. Also understand that
I can't see, smell, hear, or touch the vehicle either, so patience is
appreciated. JA is a great Q/A site, but it does NOT replace a
repair shop.
My goal is to make you happy and get a great rating in return for
my time. Sometimes I have to give you bad news that I know you
didn’t want to hear, so please don’t shoot the messenger.

P1381 Cylinder Position Sensor Intermittent Interruption

If you're certain that the CRANK sensor/distributor is good and the car runs good, then you may have a bad computer falsely setting that code.

I'm just following up to see if you have any more questions.
