I'm having problems with the CD player, 2009 Honda Fit

Customer Question

I'm having problems with the CD player
JA: What is the model/year of your Honda?
Customer: 2009 Honda Fit Sport, no nav
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have disconnected the battery to reset...nothing. I've bought a new CD to try...nothing. Keeps saying Disc load, Reading Disc, Busy please wait, bad disc, see owner's manual
JA: Have you tested the battery with a voltmeter? And can you see if it's leaking or not?
Customer: New battery
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: not that I know of

The radio works fine. CD player does not play any disc. Just repeats after loading disc....reading disc (for 10 seconds), Busy please wait, bad disc then ejects disc and see owner's manual. See owner's manual. It does not work on any CD, new or old or Dolby specified.

Hello welcome to just answer I am master tech and will be able to assist you on this matter.

the cd's your using are these store bought or burned cd's and if so do they have the paper labels on them ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
They are all store bought. No burned cd's. They are right out of the package from the artists' distributor.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Brand new, no scratches, defects, etc.
Expert:  MASTER TECH replied 1 year ago.

ok thank you for that info.

the issue your having is related to the drive/loader motor is failed.

the only option to resolve this is to send the unit out for repair.

How ever you did mention that you disconnected the battery correct ?

did you do a master reset or just disconnect the cables ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I just disconnected the cables; had to use the code to reset the radio. How much is it to have this repair done if it is the drive/loader motor?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Where does the unit have to be sent for repair?
Expert:  MASTER TECH replied 1 year ago.

I would first try a master reset.

disconnect the battery cables and then place something over the battery post .

then use something to connect both battery cable ends together for 20 minutes and then reconnect.

the reason for the battery been covered so you don't touch the battery post and short the system out

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
you want me to disconnect the cables from the battery, then cover the + and - posts on the battery; attach the two disconnected cables together for 20 minutes? After 20 minutes reattach the cables to the battery?
If this does not work, then what?
Expert:  MASTER TECH replied 1 year ago.

yes that is correct.

if this does not work then it will have to be sent in for service.

I will get the repair info once I get to work in the morning.
