2001 honda passport , at a stop car will struggle to get up to speed in normal gear , but if i shift to a lower dear it does well then shift back to normal gear . Transmission problems?

When taking off in drive does it seem like its accelerating in to high of a gear and not using 1st?

Thanks, ***** ***** manually use low gear, then shift back to drive, does 2nd gear work?

Once in drive 2nd gear, if you apply full throttle will it downshift to 1st?

auto trans, i shift to 2nd at a stop so it will get up to speed faster, then once up to speed i shift back to 1st gear [drive] runs good till i come to a stop , then back to 2nd to get up to speed

Thanks, ***** ***** to get into the transaxle to inspect and repair the valve body. It is what controls the downshifting and since your trans is not shifting down to 1st while in drive this is the first place we need to look. Do you have the skills to work on a trans?
