I need the immobilizer brake code 2000 Honda Accord JA: Do

Customer Question

I need the immobilizer brake code for my 2000 Honda Accord
JA: Do you happen to have a code reader or scan tool? What size is your engine?
Customer: no
JA: When was your last tune up?
Customer: v6
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: yes
JA: What have you tried so far?
Customer: it's not reading my key
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Honda Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

It was running with a very bad battery, I was trying to charge the battery and it died. I couldn't restart with the old battery so I got a new one and it just cranks, no start. It ran perfect up to that point.

can I use the key I have or do I need a new one?
Expert:  mike switzer replied 1 year ago.
the brake code only allows you to start the vehicle once. my best suggestion it to have a mobile locksmith come out and reprogram the keys for you. the brake code was designed to allow you to start the vehicle to drive it to the dealership for them to program the keys.

I want to drive it to have it there, not pay so much to have a mobile locksmith do it. I understand what it's for. Can I use the key I currently have?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Even starting it the one time will prove my theory about it not starting for that reason.

no you need the red master key. to prove your theory is the security light flashing when the key is in the on position?
