Customer Question

i replaced the center roller on a power door (passenger's side). during disassembly, i took the tension off the door cables. all went well until i went to try the door after replacement. now the door won't operate...even in manual. the door doesn't appear to be getting power as i hear no clicking or beeps when i try to activate the door. i've done a reset (including hard reset by removing the battery cable on the negative terminal). any ideas?
JA: Many things can cause a car to make those weird sounds. Some simple, some complicated. Fortunately, the mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: i'd like to if possible
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Honda Mechanic should know about your Honda?
Customer: it's a 2007 odyssey
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Honda Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

based on some comments in other forums, i suspected that the sliding door motor had seized. took off pulley cover and found door cable stripped and pulley seized. will need to replace the sliding door motor assembly.

Hello, my name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I have noticed that your question was not getting a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here. The first thing you need to try is to reset the door again , to do this, manually close the door and then disconnect the battery cables (both) for 1-2 min and then see if the door will operate. If after doing this again and it will still not operate then you are going to need to do some testing. See the steps in the link below. Copy and paste the link toy our browser to open and view them. the wiring diagrams for the door system as well.
