2002 Handa CRV that has no key fob. I put the key in the ignition

Customer Question

2002 Handa CRV that has no key fob. I put the key in the ignition and the alarm goes off.
JA: Sometimes things that you think will be really complicated end up being easy to fix with a Honda. The Honda Mechanic I'm going to connect you with knows all the tricks and shortcuts. Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: Alarm keeps going off, I don't have a fob and the only way to turn the alarm off is to disconnect the battery or wait for the alarm to cycle through 4 times
JA: Well, we require $5.
Customer: how do I pay you?
JA: When we are ready I'll take you to the appropriate web page.
Customer: can you guarantee me a solution?
JA: Lots of things can cause problems with the battery. The Honda Mechanic will know what to do. Are you hoping to fix this yourself?
Customer: I hope so
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Honda Mechanic should know about your Honda?
Customer: lets do the $5
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Honda Mechanic about your situation and then connect you two.

Welcome to JustAnswer. My name is ***** ***** online handle is Honda-Man. I have over 31 years experience repairing Honda and Acura vehicles. Please remember to rate or accept my service while the question is in progress or after we are done. Either way your question will remain open after the rating so you can still get all of the help you need! To reset the alarm system use the key in the door lock. When it's going off turn the key to lock then unlock. It might take a few tries but it will eventually reset the alarm. This works for the factory system that honks the horn. If you are hearing a siren type alarm please reply so I can help with the aftermarket type alarm. The procedure is different. Thank you, ***** ***** remember to rate or accept.~Cliff
