Your most likely cause is going to be a failed temperature blend door actuator. Typically you can look under the dashboard at the actuator to see if the center portion spins while trying to change the temperature.

Here is what it looks like, you will be looking for that center white piece to spin while changing the temperature. Is this something that you would be trying to repair yourself?
