Civic EX: 2004 Honda Civic 2dr EX, auto transmission. Engine

Customer Question

2004 Honda Civic 2dr EX, auto transmission. Engine rpm increases(3000-7000) vehicle speed not going above 30mph. let it sit for a few minutes, does fine for a bit then acts up again. Thought it to be fuel filter and strainer, found out online lifetime filter doesn't need replacing. Autozone says buy entire fuel module. Transmission, Sensor, Computer issue?

Is the check engine light on now?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
We bought the car couple years ago, the check engine light was on then, had it looked at and found out it was a cut wire to the oxygen sensor. Been driving it like that without any problems.

Drove it yesterday to a friend's house approx 10 miles away, had to pull over and stop 6 times. Cranks up fine, drives/shifts fine for a few minutes then slumps down and quits pulling, let it sit for a few minutes and drives/shifts fine again.
