Civic: the check engine light was on in my 2002 Honda civic.

Customer Question

the check engine light was on in my 2002 Honda civic. I took it to the dealership and they say it has a massive oil leak and needs a new oil pump and vetch assembly for $2300. I have not seen any oil leaking from the car on the driveway. Just trying to find out if this sounds like a reasonable cause for the check engine light and if the cost sounds reasonable.

Welcome to JustAnswer.Do you have the code information? The code will start with the letter "P" like P1259.$2300 seems a little steep for a leak you have not noticed? Thanks!
