I have a 98 3.2 TL that overheated when I stopped in parking lot. No previous occurances. Cant say that I have heard fans run, niether was running when I opened hood to find resevior boiling. I believe I only lost fluid in resevior, which I refilled. It did not reocure when driving home or when I parked car. Thanks Bob H.

Hello and welcome to justanswer. My name is XXXXX XXXXX I can assist you with this.

This is usually a bad fan temperature sensor or possible fan motor. Would you like to troubleshoot this on your own?

What is the best way to determine if it is the thermostat, fan control or the temp. sensor. Niether fan will runso i doubt it is the fan motors
Mechanic for Honda: thebesthonda, ASE MasterTechnician replied 8 years ago
Start the car and turn the a/c on, do both fans run?
Ask Your Own Honda Question
Customer reply replied 8 years ago
Thanks for returning info. The fans do not run when the car is running with air conditioning turned on
Mechanic for Honda: thebesthonda, ASE MasterTechnician replied 8 years ago
Ok, thank you. Does the a/c compressor engage?
Ask Your Own Honda Question
Customer reply replied 8 years ago
I believe the compressor engages as the idle speed slows when I turn air cond. on
Mechanic for Honda: thebesthonda, ASE MasterTechnician replied 8 years ago

Yes, I would feel you are correct on that. Check this fuse for me.

#7 20 amp fuse OK. Had a little trouble finding interior fuse pannel lol
Mechanic for Honda: thebesthonda, ASE MasterTechnician replied 8 years ago
Lol, yes, they hide things that's for sure. Ok, do you have a volt meter? Because to test any further will require one. Since neither fan runs with the a/c on, we have a bad radiator fan control module.

I dont have a meter (electronicaly challenged) Is this module accessable and inexpensive?
Mechanic for Honda: thebesthonda, ASE MasterTechnician replied 8 years ago

It's pretty easy to access. It's behind the glove box. I have an image below. The part is $168.28 from Acura, or you can probably get a used one here www.evansautomotive.net

HONDA PLATINUM was great. I really appreciate his help. I was ready to trade my new Honda until he told me to wait until I got 3,000 miles on it and my gas mileage would get much better.

I took the Power Steering O-Ring service bulletin linked from JustAnswer to my Acura dealer, and not only did they no-charge the o-ring, they also replaced the power steering pump at no cost.
