96 civic: fuel filter..awd..located on the store

Resolved Question:

where is the fuel filter on a 96 civic awd 1.6 ltr. Mine is located on the firewall with both in and out lines on top of filter but parts store keep saying it's one with one on bottom and top. Can't be. and it's by the tank either?

The parts store is wrong. It is mounted on the firewall in the engine compartment, but should have a line on the bottom and line on the top:

here is factory part number that they can cross-reference: #16010S01A32

ok, you need to provide the 17digit VIN and let me check by that. Also, is this an Honda in the US, or overseas?

Are both the lines metal where they connect to the fuel filter?

Customer: replied 7 years ago.
here we go jhmee4761ls001027 advance is telling that filter is from an older model civic. I think someone before me has put that older model filter on this car. The reason why I'm doing this is because another mechanic has told me when I'm losing power going up a hill is either the fuel filter needs replaced, O2 sensor or Catayltic converter is clogged. I already replaced O2 Sensor and trying to figure why I'm losing power going up an incline. On Level plane 80 mph if I want to. This civic is a U.S car btw

Ok, according to the VIN you gave me, that is a 1990 civic, not a 1996:

wow........ok Eric thanx for clearing that up. I was handed the wrong info sorry Man. Is that what's causing the car to loose power on a incline?
Expert:  Eric replied 7 years ago.

Loss of power on incline only can be from a dirty/clogged fuel filter, but can be caused by restricted exhaust(converter), incorrect air/fuel mixture.
