I was wondering if the following 5 sentences can act as a metaphor?
1) you beat the drum of my heart.
2) her scream is a silent whisper.
3) she blew her country a kiss of peace.
4) with eyes of diamonds and hair of fire.
5) I want to strangle the neck of her laughter.

I do realize that I am asking a lawyer for assistance, but lawyers are goos with English, so I was just wondering if someone might be able to help me please. ??

Ray Atkinson :

A metaphor is comparing two different things without using 'like' or 'as.'
#1 compares a drum with a heart. #2 compares a scream with a whisper. #4 compares eyes with diamonds and hair with fire. #5 compares laughter with a head. #3 does not compare kisses with peace, but peace is used as an adjective.
#1, 2, 4, and 5 are metaphors, while #3 uses imagery .
