Barry knew that Alice was tired but he was surprised that the argument between their 3 years old twin boys did not awaken her. She had not been asleep very long and occasionally changed position, but did not wake. Alice is probably in:
1. stage 2 sleep
2. stage 3 sleep
3. stage 4 sleep
4. REM sleep

I took the exam. Well the right answer was stage 4. Surprised

Sorry, the way the question is phrased, "She had not been asleep very long...," indicated to me that she would be in the beginning of "deep sleep" (stage 3). Actually, the latest classification of sleep stages has combined stage 3 and stage 4 into NREM 3. Anyway, I apologize and hope you did well on the exam.
