In this exercise, you will be given the opportunity to explore your own emotions. You will begin by recording your emotions, and then you will analyze them, using the theories and concepts that you have learned in the course.

You will be provided with a template for recording your emotions.

Open the Diary of Emotions link and select save as a Word document to your system.

Part I:

Record your emotions in the supplied diary over a period of 3 days.
During waking hours, record your emotions at least 7 times each day. You may select when those times will be.
Choose an emotion scale to define your emotions. An example of a scale that you could use is Izard’s Differential Emotions Scale. This scale uses the following terms for emotions:
At the end of the three days, compute the frequency of each emotion experienced during the total reporting period. (For example, anger = “1”, joy = “2”, sad = “1”, anxious = “3”, etc.)
Part II:

After completing your Diary of Emotions, reflect on and analyze your emotions using theories and concepts that you have learned. Write a 2–3 page paper that covers the analysis of the emotions you experienced.

Address the biological and cognitive components of the emotions you experienced.

Biological - Identify the physiological components of each emotion (internal and expressive body changes)
Cognitive – Identify specific thoughts that occurred during each emotion
Both the diary and the paper should be submitted for this assignment. Submit them separately, so the paper is in correct format.

Be sure to document your references using APA format.
