You are most welcome. I am sorry you had to go through such agony over the years, but let me assure you that you are not alone and I have seen people worse off get better.
I will read through what you wrote and answer your questions as best I can.
With regards ***** ***** joint and muscle pain and stiffness, I see it quite frequently in relations to adrenal fatigue and hypothyroidism. The problem seems to relate to cortisol’s ability to regulate the immune system and lower inflammation in the body. Furthermore, when we are stressed especially while eating food the body is in sympathetic mode while it needs to be in parasympathetic or the rest and relaxation mode. The internal organ blood supply is diminished and the hormones released during stress actually weakens the gut lining leading to a condition called leaky gut syndrome. Small undigested protein and other particles escape into the blood stream where they collect in the joints and muscle tissue. With the immune system not optimal due to the influence of cortisol it mistakens these food debris as foreign invaders and starts attacking your joints and muscles damaging cartilage and leaving protein complexes which stiffen you up. Your lymph system needs now to work over time to drain all this out hence the long recovery time.
Solution: When you sit to eat food, prepare yourself mentally to just eat you meal in peace and quiet without any distraction of any kind. Take a few deep belly breaths and if possible sit alone and eat quietly and just focus on your meal nothing else, no tv, no cell phone, nothing else. If you are really stressed wait till you have calmed down before you eat.
Eat mushrooms. All kinds. The more variety the better. But even the regular white buttons and brown ones are good. Always cooks your mushrooms never eat it raw. Mushrooms are the king of immunity boosters and regulators.
With regards ***** ***** not everyone can tolerate them. It tends to influence blood pressure and heart rate more in people with cortisol deficiency because of the compounds in licorice. Furthermore it prevents the breakdown of circulating cortisol and if cortisol is already boosted from taking other herbs the high cortisol can raise blood sugar which will trigger insulin to lower the blood sugar hence the shakes.
I would start off the licorice tea slowly and see how you respond and go from there.
You definitely over did the adrenal formula and burnt out your adrenals by over stimulating them but don’t worry the body knows how to heal itself.
Since you are already taking Vitamin C that is a good start. Make sure to take it every 3-4 hours in divided doses as the body doesn’t store a water soluble vitamin to any great extent and you pee it out. I would suggest you go to bowel tolerance for the next 3 months. Which means keep increasing the dose until you get diarrhea and go one dose lower and that is where you would dose yourself. Most people can tolerate quite a high dose. I have had patients go upto 20000 mg or 20 grams. Try to take 3000 mg three times a day to get a good therapeutic dose.
Stop the Vitamin E, Instead take vitamin D3. If you don’t go out in the sun regularly then take 6000 IU daily with a fatty meal.
Increase coq10 to 200 mg.
Make sure to take a multistrain probiotic with atleast 30 billion CFU everyday and change up brands to get as many different strains. I would also eat probiotic rich foods like kombucha, Sauerkraut, miso etc
I would eat seaweed like Nori leaves to get my iodine intake. Instead of the drops. You know you have taken too much iodine when you break out into acne.
Keep taking the calcium magnesium but make it 1:1 ratio not what it normally is which 2:1 cal:mag. Get 300 mg of each. Add vitamin B5 about 100mg, Zinc 30 mg and eat 3-4 brazil nuts daily for selenium or take 300 mcg selenium daily. Make sure to always take zinc with a meal or you will feel nauseous.
Take the Rehmannia and Ashwaghanda at night and Rhodiola in the morning.
I would also recommend going gluten and dairy free for the next three months at least. This will help you heal your gut so that you can absorb the nutrients from your food. Once you have gone GF and DF start drinking one tea spoon of L glutamine powder with a glass of water on empty stomach first thing in the morning.
Try to incorporate more relaxing activities like walking out in nature or listening to calming music during your day.
If your environment is particularly stressful make the necessary changes to deal with it as best you can.
Lastly I will give you recipe for golden milk to help your liver function better. A strong liver will allow your hormones to detox well and remove toxins and help blood sugar regulations.
I will also include the Low glycemic index handout a colleague prepared as a link

Lastly I would like to say listen to your body’s cues and trust your instincts. Our bodies constantly communicate with us by giving us clues in response to our behaviours.
