I'm sorry that you have been waiting so long for a response.
There are certainly some homeopathic and natural approaches for dealing with symptoms of a throbbing aching stomach that may be due to acid reflux.
A commonly prescribed homeopathic medicine for stomach discomfort is homeopathic Nux vomica 30C. The dosage is 5 pellets dissolved under the tongue, taken 2 or 3 times per day for a few days.
I noticed that you tried aloe vera juice, which can also be quite helpful for soothing the stomach. Other nutritional supplements that can be helpful include the herbs marshmallow root, slippery elm bark, and licorice root. There is a special kind of licorice preparation called a "DGL licorice lozenge" that is often quite effective. Taking digestive enzymes with meals and probiotics such as acidophilus after meals can be generally beneficial for the stomach and digestive tract.
As you mentioned, these kinds of symptoms can often be connected with the diet. However, these symptoms can also be caused by stress. I know that your doctor believes that your stomach is producing too much acid. Did he actually test your stomach acid levels?
At the clinic where I practice, we test patient's stomach acid levels directly and find that symptoms of acid reflux are very often caused by low stomach acid levels rather than high levels. This makes sense because as we get older, everything in the body starts to decline. Hormone levels decrease, bone density decreases, and the metabolism tends to slow down. Why would the stomach suddenly start making more acid when every other body system is functioning less?
We find that the use of a supplement called "Betaine/Pepsin" is helpful in these cases.
If you are currently taking Prilosec, please be forewarned that going off of this medication can cause a rebound effect where stomach symptoms get temporarily worse.
