dr_jane : Hello Gene, I am away from my computer at the moment but will reply to you more fully a little later - dr_jane
dr_jane : Hello again. In order to see if there is a remedy well indicated for your wife's pain, I will need to get some information on her symptoms:
Is the pain worse on one side than the other or did it start on one side (if so which) and move to the other?
Other than taking pain medication, is there anything that your wife wants to do to relieve the pain or feel more comfortable (eg apply hot/cold, move around)?
Is there anything characteristic that goes alongside her symptoms eg restlessness, a particular change in mood like wanting to be alone or have company ...
Was there something significant that happened to her around the time the fibromyalgia and also the recent intensification in pains started?
Are her symptoms worse at any particular time or part of the day?

Could you say a little about what emotion was strongest for your wife with regard to the family stress she experienced before symptoms started?

Does she have a preference for hot or cold food or drink?
What position does she lie in to sleep (if the side, which side)?

dr_jane : Hi Gene, I'm taking a look at this now.
dr_jane : Could you say what sort of time in the early morning the pain is worst?
dr_jane : It sounds like you have both been through a really tough situation to protect your grandchildren.
dr_jane : Would you say that your wife is quite a private person?
Does she especially like either salt/salty flavours or yoghurt?
dr_jane : Has she ever had any kinf of head injury
dr_jane : Is your wife especially sensitive to light?
JACUSTOMER-bzc66fqu- : She stays up very late, 2 AM or so, and can sleep only about 4 hours before pain wakes her.

dr_jane : I have narrowed things down to a few remedies but so far there isn't one option particularly standing out. I know you are struggling without your computer but I will need to ask you a few more questions.
dr_jane : Any history of liver problems or asthma?

dr_jane : You're very welcome. I have given this some thought and the remedy that I suggest for your wife is Natrum Sulphuricum (Nat-sulph) 30c - one pill daily initially for one to three days. The important thing to understand about homeopathy is that it is only ever necessary to take enough of a remedy to start a response. There is no need to take a certain number of doses. If you wife experiences a dramatic improvement or an intensification in any symptoms before the third dose, she should stop taking the remedy as this means that she has had enough. Alternatively, if her symptoms improve but are not quite gone, she can continue taking the remedy for a little longer until they resolve. If the improvements last, then that's great. If symptoms get better but then get worse again, then she can take another dose(s) of the remedy. If there are no changes at all, then she will most likely need to try a different remedy.
If you are not able to obtain the remedy locally, it can be ordered from:

Here is some general information about taking homeopathic remedies. To take a dose, simply tip one pill straight from the bottle into the lid, or use a clean teaspoon to place under the tongue, without touching it and leave to melt. As with all homeopathic remedies, it is important to avoid brushing teeth, eating or drinking for twenty minutes either side of taking it as this can antidote the remedy. For the same reason it is best to avoid any coffee, large quantities of mint or the use of strong smelling substances such as menthol, tea-tree or eucalyptus whilst on a course of homeopathic treatment
