Hello. Thank you for your question. The answer is complicated though, but I will do my best to explain it properly. The current understanding of insulin resistance is that it is a genetic variation that exists in about one-third of the population that initially helped people to survive during famine. Insulin resistance develops because the body produces a relatively large amount of insulin is response to a small intake of sugar. For example, thousands of years ago when there presumably wasn't as much food available and the occasional piece of fruit or berry was the only meal to be expected during a day then the high output of insulin was a survival mechanism. However, in our modern culture where people can eat extraordinary amounts of sugar and carbohydrates in a single day the genetic variation is no longer useful for us. What happens during a meal high in sugar and high in carbohydrates for a person with a genetic tendency to insulin resistance is that they make so much insulin it eventually stops working over time. This is the point when diabetes type 2 develops. It is a condition in which both the blood sugar and blood insulin level are pathologically high. The only real "cure" for insulin resistance is to adopt the appropriate dietary and lifestyle habits. For example, eliminating most dietary sugars, increasing exercise, and eating more proteins and fats seems to be an extremely effective strategy. I do not believe that homeopathy will change the underlying genetic condition, but it can certainly help a person develop the necessary dietary and lifestyle traits to "cure" the condition. For example, homeopathy can definitely be used to overcome sugar cravings and food addictions, and can sometimes help a person feel more motivated to exercise. I hope that helps.
