Hello. Homeopathic Berberis is indeed a great homeopathic medicine for acute kidney stone pain. It is important to keep in mind that a 1:1 organic alcohol extract of Barberry Root is different than homeopathic Berberis. There are some other supplements that I do recommend to take on a daily basis to prevent kidney stones. The first one is Magnesium Citrate, 300 to 500 mg per day. The P5P form of Vitamin B6 seems to be most effective. Dietary modifications including the elimination of refined sugars, refined carbohydrates, and caffeine can be beneficial.
