A homeopathic remedy called Arnica Montana could be helpful. Often the strength is 30C and is taken 3 pellets under the tongue three times per day for 7-10 days.

In addition, I have a few options for you that may help her reduce inflammation, tension, and pain.

1) Magnesium malate would be best in herr case as the combination of magnesium plus malic acid has been shown to help reduce muscle tension associated with fibromyalgia. 300-450mg 30 minutes before bed is often how it is dosed. The essential fatty acids found in fish oil (specifically cod liver oil) are important for optimal joint health as the membrane of every cell in our body is composed of these fats.

3) Eliminating Nightshade vegetables (potatoes, tomoatoes, peppers, eggplant, tobacco) may be helpful as these foods tend to be pro-inflammatory and can aggravate pain.

4)Boswelia - this herb has been shown to have anti-inflammatory actions without side effects. This may help reduce pain.

5) Bromelain. Taken on an empty stomach, bromelain has some anti-inflammatory properties that may help relieve pain without side effects.

6) Hypericum 30c is a homeopathic remedy that works very well for nerve pain. Dose = 3 pellets under the tongue 1x per day. 8) Epsom salt baths. Place 6-8 cups of Epsom salt in hot bath and soak for 20 minutes nightly. Epsom salt is magnesium salt and works well to reduce muscle tension.

9) Topically there is a product called Traumeel which you can apply daily.

10) There is reasearch that shows an association between low thyroid function and fibromyalgia. I suggest she have her thyroid tested (TSH, Free T4, and Free T3) if she has not already.

11) I have found much success in my practice after running a specific type of food allergy testing. Often people are experiencing food sensitivities and do not realize it.
