Just put in Samsung...

Just put in Samsung 5.1 ch BR Home Entertainment center. Starting up, select English but can go no further. Pushing button get screen asking for optical cable (have hooked up hdmi) can't get next screen as shown in manual

Technician's Assistant: Are there any HDMI cables or A/V jacks (red, yellow, and white cables) plugged into your Samsung TV?

TV is Panasonic. Have RCA cables plugged in as well as hdmi

Technician's Assistant: Was there a power outage recently?

Only to disconnect old equipment, not house-wide

Technician's Assistant: Anything else you want the TV Expert to know before I connect you?
