What was suggested unplugging it for 60 minutes and then plugging it back in.

I suggest that you first of all try removing all CDs from the player, then use a CD lens cleaning kit on it.

Then wait a sufficient time for drying, then try it again.

If that fails, even with several different CDs or two different CD discs at least, then your Bose device's CD playing part has a problem that would require that it be service-repaired.
