Thanks for promptness. I need to be able to output the

Customer Question

Thanks for promptness. I need to be able to output the composite video/stereo audio signals from my Comcast settop box to my audio/video receiver. It doesn't happen automatically and I can find nothing in the user's manual about this. How do I do it?
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: Yamaha RX-377. 2-3 years old. Incidentally output from box to TV with HDMI is working fine. I need to switch to composite/stereo for other purposes.
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Since initial setup on 4 March. I have checked every connection, signals from other boxes to the Yamaha, then to the TV, are working fine, I have checked manual carefully. Yamaha manual says to output signal to DVD recorder box, which requires composite video/stereo audio input, that output signal must also be composite video/stereo audio, which can only happen if the input from comcast box to the A/V receiver is also composite video/stereo audio
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No, I think I have explained carefully the problem

What is the model number of the Comcast device?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
FYI, getting audi through stereo audio connection now (don't know why no audio before), still no video from composite video connection; there are 6 numbers on back of concast box, first 2 seem to be card numbers. Others are:
#3: HOST SN:M 11645T6A946
#4: eSTB MAC:7823AE03C4A2
#5 DOCSIS MAC:5CE30EFD96F7
#6 SN2: 645TGA946

There should be a model number on the front.

If not can you attach a picture of the device?

When connecting via composite video have you disconnected the HDMI?

Yes, I tried disconnecting the HDMI. Still got stereo audio, no video. With HDMI connected I get the same --- stereo audio, no video with the composite video/stereo audio path selected.
I am out of town and away from my system until Monday afternoon.
