What is the bose connected to?Can you still get sound from the tv speakers, or is it affected also?Does this happen on all sources/inputs?

This can be a hardware fault in the bose, or a signal issue from the tv.
Go into the tv setup menu and look for the audio options.
Find a setting for audio output/format, and set it to PCM or Stereo (not dolby/digital/auto) and let me know if that helps.
