Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,

Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...

Initially, is this a fresh / new install? ...or has the ZONE 2 & 3 been in use before and this " audio not working..." just a recent issue?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it was working before. I purchased a new Samsung blue ray DVD and connected it up the same as my previous Panasonic dvd.

To my understanding of this model, ZONE and 3 would only work with analog connected devices; i.e. using RCA-to-RCA cables, not with " audio cable..."

This is even stipulated in p. 113 of the Owner's Manual viewable HERE.

Ok yes I can see that in the manual. My new Samsung DVD doesn't have analog jack outputs, so I guess I have an issue unless I buy one with analogue outputs
Expert:  Louie replied 1 year ago.

Or.....would you consider a device that can extract analog audio from the " Samsung DVD..." HDMI output?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sorry I may have misundestood. Does such a device exist?
