Are you saying you were trying to update the firmware on the system?Or just trying to link your phone to it for airplay/bluetooth?
And you are doing this via a wifi hotspot (in the phone)?
If so, be careful not to interrupt it. Do not use the phone for anything else during this time, make sure it does not lock/sleep either. I would also plug it in to make sure the battery doesn't drain.
Hotspot connections are very precarious for firmware updates, as the signal is easily interrupted. If the update fails midway, it can "brick" the bose system to the point that it cannot be repaired.
