Our NAD 777 keeps shutting off after a few minutes of playing.

Customer Question

Our NAD 777 keeps shutting off after a few minutes of playing. We unplug and plug in again, it plays a few minutes and shuts off. It's about 5 years old.
Can it be fixed?

Hello and sorry you're having problems. There's several things that can cause the receiver to shut off, and I need to ask for more info to find out. 1) Have new speakers been added, or has the equipment been moved just prior to this happening? 2) Does it shut completely off, or give a protection message on the display? 3) Is it hot when it shuts off? 4) If you remove ALL speaker wires from the back of the unit, will it still physically shut down?
