Customer Question

This is a home audio/visual question. Our system includes an HDTV, a receiver that powers surround sound speakers, a DirecTV controller box. and a DVD player. We just added an Amazon Fire TV Box (not the stick) which displays its content on the TV screen.
However, we do not get any sound through the receiver/speakers when using the Amazon Fire TV box. What adjustment would likely be needed to get sound from Amazon Fire TV? Thanks!

Hello, There's not enough info provided here to give an answer. The answer depends on many factors:
1) What's the make and model of the surround receiver?
2) What's the model number off of the back of the TV?
3) Is the Amazon Fire box connected to the TV, or to the Home Theater receiver?

Thanks for your questions. Please see below. The receiver is very old (15 years). It was high quality back then. It's a Yamaha RX-V992.The Model number off the back of the Sony TV is KDS-R50XBR1The Amazon Fire Box is connected into the TV only.

Thank you. Currently how is the audio fed back to the Yamaha from your other sources- for instance your cable box, DVD player, etc.? Is there an Optical cable from the TV back to the Yamaha? Or do all devices above have audio connections directly to the Yamaha?
