That's a good question. It is not a simple 'yes or no' answer sort of question, and it really depends upon what the system is doing at the time.

- If the Lorex box or Lorex system is recording from the camera(s), then the hard disk drive (hdd) light should keep on blinking fairly steadily, since data from the cameras would be being stored onto that hdd device.

- If anything else is 'going on' with the Lorex box or system, it should have a flashing of the HDD light.
