I need help with resetting my password, sdr-5102N says

hi there, i need help with resetting my password
JA: What's the make/model of your camera? How old is it?
Customer: sdr-5102N says jan2014 on it but we purchased it in auguest 2016
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: havent tried any trouble shooting yet. my parents own a bar and a (now) disgruntled employee set up the system for them. they still have remote access to it but we cant get in to change anything now.
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?

Hi there and welcome

What you will need to do is reset the unit to reset the password.

To do this, please do the following

Using the remote control, please press the dvr button, then rapidly press

Freeze>Alarm>Freeze>Alarm>Freeze Return

Once entered at an average pace the dvr will ask you if you want to load the factory settings.

Select ok and all factory settings will be loaded. This will not delete any recorded footage

If you do not have a DVR button on the remote. press the return button (the arrow circling back on itself) a few times then Freeze>Alarm>Freeze>Alarm>Freeze> Return

If it does not initially work, try a few times as you need to get the timing correct

The default then is admin as the username and password *****
